‘Clinical Psychologist’ is a protected title, meaning that only those with the appropriate qualifications and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) are entitled to use it. All Clinical Psychologists adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines, ensuring quality and safety for clients. Holding ‘Chartered Psychologist’ status is the benchmark of professional recognition and reflects the highest standards of psychological knowledge and expertise.

Information Governance – In the interests of safe practice Lighthouse Psychology will always write to you/your child’s GP to inform that an episode of care has commenced and what the initial assessment indicates, and when an episode of care has ended and what the outcomes were. This will be discussed explicitly at the point of booking formal assessment and is non negotiable. Beyond this communication, confidentiality is maintained at all times unless there are exceptional circumstances such as the young person’s risk to self, or others being identified as at risk of harm. In these circumstances services such as GP, social work or police may be contacted without your consent as this is a recognised professional obligation.

Where only an initial enquiry has been made or an initial pre-assessment discussion has been held that does not lead to formal assessment, information will not be shared with your GP unless there are concerns around safety.

Lighthouse Psychology Child and Adolescent Services Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and as such information gathered is processed in line ICO regulatory standards.
